Refined Admin Dashboard

Refined Admin Dashboard compatibility

Refined Admin Dashboard styles WordPress's own markup instead of replacing it, so most plugins work with it as they are. A plugin that uses the standard screens is redrawn along with everything else; one that brings its own interface is detected and left alone.

This page lists what we have actually tested, version by version. A line appears here only once it has been tested, and we update the page with each release.

Updated:

Tests on 19 October: a fresh WordPress 7.1.3 install, PHP 8.5, and Refined Admin Dashboard 1.0.6 as published on WordPress.org. On every screen, in the light and dark themes, we checked for JavaScript errors, the place of the menu entry, where notices went and the list columns. Lines tested on another day show their own date.

With Version RAD version Tested on
WordPress Every test on this page ran on it, from 14 to 21 October, except the multisite one. 7.1.3 1.0.1 → 1.0.10
Multisite Activated for the whole network, under WordPress 7.2 beta 1 in Firefox: the main site, a subsite and the network admin (dashboard, Sites, Plugins, Users, Settings). The My Sites menu opens on two levels, and the plugin counts are right. WordPress 7.2 beta 1 1.0.8
Block editor Block inserter, editor buttons, toolbar and settings panel, in the light and dark themes. WordPress 7.1.3 1.0.4
WooCommerce Home, orders, order screen, products, product screen, settings, reports and status: redesigned, without errors. The dashboard's six WooCommerce widgets show the right figures: revenue, orders to process, low stock, best sellers, last seven days, activity. 10.7.0 1.0.6
Easy Digital Downloads Its counter sits in the top bar, and its Settings, Reports and Tools pages take the Refined Admin Dashboard look. 3.7.2 1.0.4
Yoast SEO Its dashboard, settings and tools, left in Yoast's own colours. Its columns in the post list, and its box in the block editor and in the classic editor. 28.5 1.0.6
Rank Math SEO Its dashboard, settings, titles and meta, left in Rank Math's own colours. Its columns in the post list, its scores in the block editor's top bar, and its box in the classic editor. 1.0.279 1.0.6
ACF Pro Field group list and editor, options page. Text, select, true/false, image and repeater fields in both editors, in the light and dark themes. Tested without an active licence. 6.5.1 1.0.6
WPForms Lite Its full-screen form builder, left to WPForms. Forms, entries, settings and tools in WPForms' own colours, and its menu icons, without errors. 2.0.2.1 1.0.6
Elementor Its admin screens are recognised as a builder's and left to Elementor. The Elementor editor, opened from a page, loads without Refined Admin Dashboard (on purpose) and without errors. 4.3.2 1.0.6
Animation Addons for Elementor Its settings screens keep their own colours, in the light and dark themes. 4.2.7 1.0.4
Bricks Admin screens redesigned, without errors. The builder, in the light and dark themes: no errors, and Refined Admin Dashboard adds nothing to it. A query loop filtered by a media library folder shows exactly that folder's files, in the builder and on the site. The builder's media browser was tested on 16 October, with Refined Admin Dashboard 1.0.3 and Refined Media Library. 2.4.2 1.0.6
Headless with WPGraphQL With WPGraphQL: media folders and collections can be queried (mediaFolders, mediaCollections, also on each MediaItem), and so can the WebP and AVIF copies (webpUrl, avifUrl, webpSrcSet, avifSrcSet); checked again on 22 October on the published versions. With the REST API: a doubleyoupi_formats field on media, and routes for folders and collections, which the doubleyoupi_filter_media_folders_public filter makes private (the route then answers 401). An Astro front served a <picture> with the WebP copy, and the browser downloaded it. All of this works with Refined Media Library alone too. WPGraphQL 2.25 1.0.10
WPGraphQL IDE Follows the dark or light theme, syntax colours included, on the IDE page and in the top bar drawer. GraphiQL 1, the older IDE, keeps its original light theme. 5.6 1.0.10
W3 Total Cache Its dashboard, general settings and page cache screens, left in W3 Total Cache's own colours. Its footer sits below the content, and its navigation bars run full width. 2.10.7 1.0.6
UpdraftPlus Its screen, redesigned and readable in both themes. Our dashboard's backup widget reads a real UpdraftPlus backup: date, exact size, status and destination (checked with version 1.0.5). 1.26.11 1.0.6
BackWPup A real backup (files and database, on the server), read by our dashboard's backup widget: date, size, status, destination and next scheduled backup. 5.7.8 1.0.6
Duplicator A real backup, read by the backup widget just as Duplicator lists it: size, status, destination. 5.0.6 1.0.6
WPvivid Backup A real backup, read by the backup widget: exact size (its three parts added up) and destination. 0.9.136 1.0.6
All-in-One WP Migration A real backup (export to a file), read by the backup widget: size, status, destination. 7.112 1.0.6
Backup Migration A real backup, read by the backup widget: size, status, destination. 2.1.7 1.0.6
Total Upkeep A real backup, read by the backup widget: size, status, destination. By default, Total Upkeep stores its backups outside the site's folder: that is how the plugin works, not Refined Admin Dashboard. 1.17.4 1.0.6
XCloner A real backup, read by the backup widget: size and destination. XCloner records no status, so the widget shows none. 4.8.7 1.0.6
