We're launching Double Youpï

WordPress runs a good chunk of the web. And yet, when you deliver it for a living, you spend your time fixing the same annoyances: a media library that overflows, a patchwork back office, ten settings for a decision that should have been made for you. Double Youpï is the urge to answer that cleanly, a better WordPress, plain and simple.

A suite, not a bloated machine

Double Youpï is a modular suite of extensions. Each plugin does one thing, well: it installs, it works, it fades into the background. No dashboard begging for your attention, no fifty configuration tabs. We embrace a curated and opinionated stance: fewer settings, sensible defaults, decisive choices.

The philosophy fits in one sentence: you should not have to configure what already has a good default answer.

We start with the media library

The first module is Refined Media Library, and it is free.

The native media library is a flat grid that quickly becomes unmanageable. RML turns it into a real asset manager: folders and collections, instant search, filters by type, a preview panel that slides in without leaving the grid, bulk actions, and automatically optimized images (WebP/AVIF) on upload. All in a consistent dark redesign, built so you actually want to open your media library.

It is the module we ship first because it is the annoyance everyone knows, and the one where the difference shows in thirty seconds.

And next: Refined Admin Dashboard

The second module arrives right after, also free: Refined Admin Dashboard. A redesigned WordPress back office, consistent and restful, because we spend hours in it and it deserves better than a pile of inherited screens. It is already well underway; more on it very soon.

The suite (literally)

After these two, more modules will follow, at the same pace: one by one, each focused, each finished before moving on to the next. The roadmap clears up as it grows, and you will be able to track the progress of each module, in plain terms, on the home page.

Who is behind this?

Me, Raphaël, also known as Robot sensible, WordPress developer and UX/UI designer. Double Youpï comes out of years spent delivering sites and smoothing down the same rough edges. Rather than redo the same fixes on every project, I might as well turn them into clean, shared, maintained tools. I say more on the About page.
